With a strong global technical team, we develop and manufacture coatings that protect printed circuit boards in electronics, allowing them to function in water-laden environments. We work with the biggest brands in the consumer electronics and automotive industries to increase product reliability and improve product performance in wet and humid conditions. Not only do we provide a portfolio of coatings, but we also work closely with our customers to help solve some of their most difficult problems through rapid innovation and ingenuity

About the Role

We are looking for a Coatings Engineer I/II to join our talented and diverse technical team. This position will own the application of actnanoโ€™s innovative waterproofing solutions for customersย in the Americas and key global accounts.ย 

This position will also require developing an expertise in our coating technologies and honing processes for optimal application of our coatings to a variety of printed circuit boards.ย 

As a Coatings Engineer, you will:

  • Work independently in a lab-based environment with minimal day-to-day guidance
  • Work closely with our global sales and field-deployed global technical service teams to ensure the on-time completion of customer activities, including participating in technical calls with customers and managing customer samples
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with key technical contacts and decision makers at our customers
  • Understand and implement coating application approaches on a variety of customer samples in customersโ€™ production lines with our field-deployed technical team
  • Contribute to the development of application techniques and test methodologies to meet market and customer requirements
  • Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and be able to engage customers on the details of our products
  • Participate in occasional international and domestic business travel (15-20%)

Who We Need

Our ideal Coatings Engineer will possess the following experience and skills:

  • B.S in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years work experience in a technical role

The position is located in Malden, MA and is accessible via the Orange Line.


The salary range for this position is $76,000 โ€“ $121,000 per year, which reflects the base pay the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay at the time of this posting.
