Job description

Commercial Sales Manager – Quebec

Montreal, QC | Applied Commercial HVAC

Our client is a well-established national HVAC organization with a dedicated Applied Commercial HVAC business supporting large commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential projects across Canada.

We are conducting a confidential search for a Commercial Sales Manager – Quebec to lead growth for the Applied Commercial HVAC business across the province. This role will be based out of the Montreal area and will focus exclusively on commercial and applied HVAC equipment sales, not residential, parts, supplies, or HVAC/R distribution.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven commercial HVAC sales leader who understands major equipment sales, project-based selling, engineering influence, mechanical contractor relationships, and the Quebec commercial construction market.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $110,000 to $130,000
  • Additional compensation: Excellent commission and bonus potential
  • Competitive overall package with significant upside based on performance.

The Opportunity

The Commercial Sales Manager will be responsible for driving Applied Commercial HVAC sales growth across Quebec. The role will involve developing customer relationships, supporting major project opportunities, working closely with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors, and helping position the company’s commercial HVAC solutions on new construction and retrofit projects.

This position is ideal for someone with strong technical commercial HVAC knowledge, experience selling or leading sales of applied equipment, and the ability to operate strategically with engineers, contractors, owners, developers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Applied Commercial HVAC sales activity across Quebec, with a focus on growth, major projects, and market share expansion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, building owners, developers, facility managers, and key commercial accounts.
  • Identify, track, and pursue new construction, retrofit, replacement, and capital equipment opportunities.
  • Support project strategy from early-stage design influence through specification, bidding, pricing, closing, and execution.
  • Work closely with internal sales, technical, estimating, application engineering, and operations teams to support customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to commercial sales representatives involved in applied HVAC opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with vendor/manufacturer partners and ensure the business is properly positioned on key projects.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movement, upcoming projects, and customer needs across Quebec.
  • Help drive sales of applied commercial HVAC equipment, including systems such as chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, VRF/VRV, heat pumps, and related commercial HVAC solutions.
  • Represent the company professionally in the Quebec commercial HVAC market.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in Applied Commercial HVAC sales, commercial equipment sales, mechanical systems sales, or a closely related technical sales leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of project-based HVAC sales, specifications, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and commercial construction cycles.
  • Experience with applied commercial HVAC equipment such as chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, VRF/VRV systems, heat pumps, or other major mechanical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Quebec market, ideally with established relationships in Montreal and surrounding areas.
  • Bilingual French and English communication skills are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and influence commercial sales activity across a regional market.
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of growing revenue, developing accounts, and winning major projects.
  • Comfortable working with engineers, contractors, owners, developers, and internal technical teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness, follow-up discipline, and ability to manage multiple project opportunities at once.
  • Professional, customer-focused, and technically credible in front of sophisticated commercial HVAC buyers.

Why This Role?

This is a high-impact Applied Commercial HVAC sales leadership opportunity in the Quebec market. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing a dedicated commercial HVAC business, influencing major projects, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market share across the province.
