Job description

Electro Mechanic

Canadian company Nexkemia, located in Mansonville, is a major producer of expandable polystyrene, has doubled its production capacity since 2012 and is undergoing rapid expansion.

This position is part of the evening shift with a schedule from 3-11:30pm.

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the main activities for this position include:


  • Maintain, inspect, adjust, and repair the various equipment, installations, and mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems of the plant.
  • Participate in various plant projects.
  • Apply health, safety, and environmental rules in the department.
  • Analyze equipment operating problems and make recommendations to improve productivity and reliability.
  • Participate in the plant’s rotating on-call schedule.
  • All other related tasks.


Qualifications:

  • Possess a DEC (technical college diploma) in electro mechanics.


Required skills:

  • Ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Basic computer knowledge to work with our computerized maintenance system.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude to perform tasks safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working in a team, resourceful, and autonomous.
  • Possess a toolbox.
  • Possess a Class C license (truck mechanic) is an asset; otherwise, coaching to obtain it is possible.
  • Experience in welding and machining is an asset.
  • Possess a Class 4 fixed-machine mechanic license is an asset.


Experience required:

  • Between 3 and 5 years of experience.
