Job description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.

2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.

3. Inspect finished products and components to identify defects or quality issues.

4. Perform rework, repair, adjustment, and modification of products according to work instructions, engineering specifications, and quality standards.

5. Document defects, repairs, and rework activities accurately in production records and tracking systems.

6. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve non-conformance issues.

7. Conduct functional testing and visual inspections to verify reworked products meet required specifications.

8. Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve production efficiency.

9. Maintain an organized and clean work area following 5S and lean manufacturing principles.

10. Assist with sanitation and housekeeping throughout the plant.

11. Assist with training new employees.

12. Adhere to all Quality, Food Safety, GMP, and Safety policies and procedures and reporting any nonconformities.

13. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
