Description
Markon is seeking a highly technical Senior CNO Software Engineer to support advanced cyber operations and national security missions for the Fort Meade Customer. This role focuses on designing and developing advanced CNO capabilities, leveraging deep expertise in low-level systems, networking, and software engineering. The engineer will work in a collaborative, mission-focused environment to solve complex technical challenges and deliver impactful cyber solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced hardware- and software-based CNO capabilities
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation
  • Develop and implement algorithms to meet performance and mission requirements
  • Program in low-level and high-level languages (C, C++, Python, and Assembly as needed)
  • Analyze OS internals across Windows, Linux, mobile, and network devices
  • Apply expert knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and socket-level programming
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex systems and software applications
  • Develop data queries for databases and data repositories supporting mission needs
  • Lead technical efforts and provide guidance on CNO solution development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph through this Customer
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 14+ years of experience, or High School diploma and 18+ years of experience
  • Strong experience with Python and/or C/C++ programming
  • Experience developing CNO capabilities and leading technical efforts
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex systems
  • Strong understanding of OS internals (Windows, Linux, mobile, or network devices)
  • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP) and socket-level programming
  • Experience with modern C++ (e.g., C++11/14, RAII)
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing CNO capabilities or cyber tools.
  • Experience with software analysis, vulnerability research, or reverse engineering.
  • Understanding of assembly language concepts.
  • Experience developing unit and integration tests.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible).
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PCEP, C++ certifications, security-related certifications).

Salary Range
USD $190,000.00 - USD $215,000.00 /Yr.
