What are CMHTs (Community Mental Health Teams)?

These are multidisciplinary groups of mental health professionals who work together to provide support, treatment, and care to people living in the community with mental health issues. CMHTs typically include psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists. Their goal is to help individuals manage their mental health conditions while remaining in their own homes, thereby avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions. They offer assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and ongoing support tailored to each person's needs.
