Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists Psychiatry Services, nursing staff with patient preparation and treatment procedures, both acute and non-acute illnesses or injuries. Performs routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment. Assists in maintaining the therapeutic milieu by utilizing appropriate communication skills. Performs clerical duties associated with patient care management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma, its equivalent, or higher degree is required. One year of experience in a psychiatric setting is required. Can substitute one year of college credit towards a Nursing or Psychology degree for one year of experience. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card. Must have or obtain certification (CBHT, CMHT) within one year of employment.
