Clinical Placement Coordinator

The Department of Nursing at Frostburg State University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Placement Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in supporting student success by coordinating clinical placements for nursing students across undergraduate and graduate programs. Some travel may be required.

The Department of Nursing is one of Frostburg State University's largest academic departments, offering a range of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs in both on-campus and online formats. The department is supported by a dedicated team of faculty and staff committed to excellence in nursing education and student achievement.

Position Summary

The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and managing clinical placements for nursing students. This position serves as the primary liaison between students, healthcare organizations, and the university to ensure students secure appropriate clinical experiences that meet program and course requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical placements for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

  • Assist students in identifying and securing clinical sites that align with course and program requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between students and clinical agencies.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with healthcare organizations and clinical partners.

  • Coordinate with clinical agencies and the University's legal department to develop and execute new affiliation agreements.

  • Ensure students understand and complete all requirements established by clinical organizations.

  • Monitor placement progress and maintain accurate records of clinical placements and agreements.

  • Communicate regularly with nursing faculty and department leadership regarding placement status and emerging needs.

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to address and resolve clinical placement challenges.

  • Support ongoing efforts to expand and strengthen clinical partnership opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of work experience in a professional setting.

  • Experience working with healthcare organizations, higher education, clinical education, or student support services preferred.
