Employer & Industry UsageUsed in healthcare organizations, clinics, hospitalsCommon in outpatient clinics, private practices, healthcare networks

Both positions require healthcare-related experience and are vital for smooth clinic functioning.

What does a Clinic Director do?

A Clinic Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall management of a healthcare clinic. Their duties typically include supervising staff, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and implementing policies to improve patient care. Clinic Directors also play a key role in strategic planning and maintaining the quality and efficiency of services offered at the clinic. They often act as a liaison between healthcare providers, administrative staff, and patients to ensure smooth clinic functioning.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Clinic Director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Clinic Director, you need strong leadership abilities, healthcare management expertise, and a relevant degree (often in healthcare administration or a related field). Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, budgeting software, and regulatory compliance certifications such as HIPAA are typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are crucial for leading teams and ensuring smooth clinic operations. These skills and qualifications are vital for delivering high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory standards, and achieving clinic goals.

What are the primary challenges Clinic Directors face in managing both clinical operations and administrative tasks?

Clinic Directors often juggle the dual responsibilities of overseeing patient care quality and managing business operations such as budgeting, staffing, and regulatory compliance. Balancing the needs of clinical staff with administrative goals can be challenging, especially in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Successful Clinic Directors use strong organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth workflows, foster team collaboration, and address issues promptly. Regularly adapting to changes in healthcare regulations and technology is also a key part of the role.

Job Title

Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN) and its Family of Brands is seeking to recruit & hire a Clinic Director.

About Us

PRN brings together some of the most trusted PT brands across the West and Central U.S. Whether in the clinic or behind the scenes, weโ€™re all about personalized care, smart clinical insight, and making every patient feel supported from start to finish.

About the Role

We are looking for an energetic and results-driven Clinic Director to lead a single clinic and take ownership of core business and performance outcomes. The Clinic Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinic operations, including staff management, scheduling, budgeting, and patient flow. This role is ideal for individuals who are ready to develop and demonstrate leadership skills while driving clinic growth and operational excellence. The Clinic Director will set annual goals, manage budgets, and implement strategies to improve clinic profitability and patient satisfaction. By fostering a positive clinic culture, resolving operational challenges, and facilitating effective communication among team members, the Clinic Director ensures the clinic operates efficiently and meets organizational objectives. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on clinical performance and team development, serving as a foundation for future leadership growth within the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate clinic growth, drive clinic processes, and adjust approach based on evolving inputs (e.g., staffing mix, DUPV, specialties offered)
  • Resolve issues in scheduling and/or documentation of clinician or support staffing
  • Set annual clinic goals and budget
  • Remove roadblocks and obstacles from personal and team goal attainment
  • Facilitate referral relationships while including team members as growth opportunities
  • Communicate with Front Office and Business Development teams about referral trends or gaps
  • Review financial reporting and make real-time corrective adjustments (e.g., bad debt, no-shows)
  • Establish employee-friendly clinic culture through 1:1 and team meetings to motivate, engage, and grow staff
  • Reinforce policies and celebrate team wins
  • Escalate issues promptly and use available tools (dashboards, EHR) to determine proper course of action
  • Make staffing decisions based on business input

Skills & Qualifications

  • Has a list of strong referral sources within the community, preferred
  • Valid state licensure as a clinician (PT, OT, PTA, OTA)
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, or completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • CPR certification and any other relevant certifications as required by state regulations
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in orthopedic, neurological, or geriatric physical therapy (preferred)

Benefits & Perks

We offer a comprehensive and competitive compensation package designed to support both personal and professional well being. Team members enjoy full scale benefitsโ€”including robust Medical, Vision, and Dental plansโ€”along with paid time off, clinical incentive opportunities, and student loan repayment options. We are committed to your continued growth and success, providing professional development resources and ongoing clinical education support.

At PRN, youโ€™ll be part of a supportive, mission driven environment dedicated to excellence in patient care and the success of every member of our team.

Note: This job description is a general outline of responsibilities and requirements. Specific duties may vary based on the needs of management.
