As a Client Assessor/ Substitute Site Manager, in The Colony Area, Texas, you'll be the first point of connection for older adults seeking support through our Meals on Wheels program. Your compassion, attentiveness, and ability to truly listen will help ensure seniors across Denton County receive the nutrition, care, and services they need to remain independent and safe at home. If you're someone who finds purpose in uplifting others and wants to make a meaningful impact in your community, this role offers the chance to bring dignity, comfort, and hope to those who need it most. This is a hybrid role; the successful candidate will also step in and manage our congregate sites if regular managers are on vacation or otherwise not available.
The Client Assessor/ Substitute Site Manager performs initial and subsequent client assessments to determine eligibility and compatibility for the MOW program. This is a hybrid role; the successful candidate will also step in and manage our congregate sites if regular managers are on vacation or otherwise not available.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Visits clients in their homes to perform assessments to determine program eligibility and compatibility. From time to time, assessments might be performed over the telephone as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Submits assessments to the office within five business days.
  • Receive and interpret daily referrals.
  • Maintains good working relationships with other SPAN employees.
  • Serves as a backup for Site Managers and volunteers in meal distribution.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Licensing:
  • Be able to maintain a valid Texas State Driver's License

  • Interact with clients positively and appropriately, as well as family members, employees, and the community

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and electronic e-mail

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Remote environment. Driving required. Frequent climbing in and out of vehicle and entering and exiting client homes, while navigating a variety of potential obstacles. Employee may be exposed to patterns of lights and darkness normally experienced while driving (i.e. traffic lights, headlights, shadows, etc.).
