Job Description:
Perkins Coie Trust Company is seeking a qualified, dynamic candidate to take on the role of Client Relationship Officer to provide high-quality client service in trust administration, estate accounts, advisory and other personal trusts as allocated by the Chief Trust Officer. This individual will work closely with the Chief Trust Officer in the administration of the firm's accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and adherence to appropriate law, compliance mandates and regulations, as well as assist with financial planning and in-house services.
This position requires working in the office 3 days per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These essential functions are primary job duties that candidates must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.
  • Manage all servicing aspects for a portfolio of client accounts, including trusts, estates and investment advisory.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all clients on an assigned book of accounts; be the confidential advisor on trust, tax and administrative matters.
  • Work in concert with a client's attorney relationships and outside service providers to holistically serve the clients.
  • Process and ensure proper filing of all documentation related to client accounts.
  • Prepare client materials for client meetings as well as help lead client meetings along with the investment officer.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new client accounts.
  • Manage all day-to-day client responsibilities and maintain docketing records for long-term client matters.
  • Assist in tax planning and tax return preparation, including the processing of estimated taxes as required.
  • Be familiar with estate settlement time frames and procedures.
  • Help develop comprehensive financial plans and facilitate in-house planning meetings with firm personnel.
  • Administer the setup, maintenance and closing of client accounts on the trust accounting system.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Excellent interpersonal skills working face-to-face with clients.
  • Superb organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Proven track record of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Exhibit a proactive mentality and commitment to professional growth.
  • Being a team player and supportive of colleagues.
  • Promote integrity in an environment of mutual trust and respect while maintaining utmost discretion in working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Familiarity with trust or investment-related functions and systems.

SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED
  • Experience with trust accounting systems (SunGard).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree, and would preferably have a minimum of 10-plus years of work experience as a financial professional.
  • Candidates must have a general understanding of finance, investments and tax.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to 10 paid holidays, and family care benefits. The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.
Washington state compensation range: $95,470 to $145,100 annually
