K2 is seeking a dynamic Director of Client Relations (Business Development) to support strategic growth initiatives across all K2 locations. Candidates based out of California or the Northeast Corridor are preferred.

The Dir. Client Relations is a key driver of K2’s growth, responsible for identifying and cultivating new partnerships in the field. This dynamic role focuses on proactively connecting with diverse stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and other strategic partners to generate new opportunities for our research sites. The ideal candidate is a motivated and outgoing networker who excels at building relationships from the ground up and effectively communicating the value and capabilities of K2 Medical Research to build a robust pipeline of new accounts and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities:
  • Formulate an account management strategy to identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-value business development opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clinical trial opportunities and strategic partnerships across targeted accounts
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and community gatherings
  • Conduct targeted outreach (phone, email, in-person)
  • Schedule and conduct introductory meetings
  • Tailor presentations for different partner types
  • Maintain CRM records of prospective partners
  • Collaborate with Feasibility Specialist and Account Executive for lead handoff
  • Serve as a strategic liaison to senior executives, principal investigators, and decision-makers within major pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, global CROs, and large healthcare networks
  • Cultivate high-impact, long-term alliances that expand K2’s clinical footprint and position the organization as a preferred research partner.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging therapeutic areas, and local healthcare community dynamics
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, conversion metrics, and partnership development progress
  • Represent K2 Medical Research as a brand ambassador in the community, building awareness and positive reputation
  • Identify and research potential pharmaceutical sponsors, biotech companies, and CROs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to track and manage sales pipeline activities effectively.

  • Understanding of clinical research operations and the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust with healthcare professionals, business leaders, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or relationship management (clinical research experience preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated track record of building relationships and generating new business opportunities.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or professional services sectors preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
