Job description

As a senior tax associate, you will work directly with the tax team and wealth management teams to deliver personal, Fiduciary, S-Corporation, partnership, private foundation and gift tax returns. The successful senior tax associate will be a tax enthusiast, thoughtful listener, have a strong team mentality, and be driven to grow professionally and personally.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain client relationships aimed at client retention; support clients as it relates to planning, projects and compliance requirements
  • Prepare tax returns, quarterly and annual income tax projections, estimated tax vouchers, extension forms and all related work papers and financial statements
  • Maintain client paper files and electronic data files in a timely manner; compile quarterly asset values for billing, journals, transfers, invoicing, annuity fees, commission fees and collection consulting fees
  • Review activities within the job scope for sufficient controls to prevent errors, fraud and misstatements of financial results
  • Attend and participate in learning opportunities through client meetings, associate meetings and internal resources made available through compliance, practice management, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities, research supervised technical matters for complex tax needs and updates to regulations
  • Present complete, timely and accurate client deliverables
  • Compliance to the Firm's quality control standards
  • Additional projects, furthering the service of clients, as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, Accounting
  • 3+ years of related experience
Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Familiarity with tax software programs
  • Positive attitude toward client relations to provide exceptional, proactive client service
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain the necessary attention to detail
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills, creative problem solving and strong research capabilities
  • Ability to work on a team while maintaining a high level of responsibility and accountability to individual projects and tasks
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities, deadline-based tasks and simultaneous projects
  • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal writing & presentation skills
