Job description

About BizScout

BizScout is a dynamic marketplace revolutionizing how businesses connect, grow, and transition ownership. We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial leader to grow and run our Private Client program, a concierge acquisition service for serious buyers, as an in-house expert based in Austin, Texas.

This role inherits a strong foundation and is responsible for taking it to the next level. You will own the program end-to-end: sharpening the process, structures, and systems that support our buyer clients; growing and leading a team; managing the program's budget; and expanding the client base of retail and institutional buyers who enter the program. You will personally manage clients and walk them through their acquisition journey, from intake through close. You will report directly to the VP, Head of Supply and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to scale the program into a mature, market-leading business line.

Responsibilities

  • Program Ownership & Build‑Out – Own and continually sharpen the program's operating model, ensuring the program scales and delivers against the company's goals.

  • Team Leadership – Directly manage the sourcing team and the rest of the program team, including support staff. Set goals, delegate effectively, and hold the team accountable to production and client-outcome metrics.

  • Client Base Growth – Grow the Private Client roster (individual buyers/searchers), using outbound, referrals, partnerships, and BizScout's marketing and marketplace reach.

  • Cross‑Functional Partnership – Partner with Operations and Engineering on tooling, CRM, and process improvements; own reporting on program performance, budget, and roadmap.

  • Direct Client Management – Personally manage a portfolio of Private Client clients, walking them through their acquisition journey end-to-end (from intake and qualification through underwriting, deal evaluation, and close), applying M&A judgment to keep engagements moving.

  • Budget Management – Own and manage the Private Client program budget, making resourcing decisions (headcount, tooling, marketing spend) that support program growth while protecting margin.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven builder – 3+ years in private equity (deal execution/portfolio operations preferred), consulting, or business brokerage/M&A advisory, with a track record of building and scaling a program, team, or business unit from the ground up.

  • People and budget leadership – experience managing, delegating to, and growing a team as it scales, plus comfort owning a program budget or P&L and making headcount/tooling/spend trade-offs.

  • M&A and business development acumen – strong grasp of business financials, valuation, and deal structures, paired with the instinct to personally drive and later scale client acquisition across retail and institutional buyer segments.

  • Operational rigor – proficiency with CRM and tech-enabled, scalable processes; high-agency, independent decision-maker able to manage multiple clients, team members, and workstreams simultaneously.

  • Professional presence and discretion – a sense of urgency and ownership as the face of the program to clients, brokers, and partners, with sound judgment on sensitive client and financial information.

  • Adaptability & Communication – comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast-changing environment, with strong relationship-building skills across clients, sellers, and internal teams, and clear communication with executive stakeholders.

Position Details

  • Type: Full-time

  • Reports to: VP, Head of Supply

  • Direct reports: Sr. Manager, Private Client and the full Private Client program team

  • Compensation: $250K OTE with flexibility above this range for the right candidate; compensation includes base salary and performance-based commission tied to program revenue

  • Location: Austin, Texas, 5 days in-office required; travel up to 50% as needed

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent a plus

  • Experience: 3+ years in private equity, consulting, or a related field (business brokerage/M&A advisory a plus; PE/consulting execution experience preferred)
