Job description

Golden Corner Veterinary Hospital is seeking a motivated, organized, and compassionate Hospital Administrator to join our growing team. This is a leadership position that plays a vital role in the daily operations and long-term success of our hospital. The ideal candidate is a licensed veterinary technician who enjoys balancing patient care with team leadership, operational management, and problem-solving.

As Hospital Administrator, no two days are the same. This position requires someone who is adaptable, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a confident leader who enjoys mentoring others, embraces change, communicates effectively, and leads by example. They are organized, dependable, and willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team and our patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with veterinary technician duties as needed
  • Preparing and overseeing technician and assistant schedules
  • Assisting with inventory management and purchasing
  • Supporting client relations and resolving client concerns
  • Managing employee relations, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions
  • Assisting with hiring, onboarding, and staff development
  • Managing controlled substance inventory and regulatory compliance
  • Developing and maintaining hospital forms, protocols, and internal documents
  • Implementing updates to laboratory services, pricing, and hospital procedures
  • Working closely with the practice manager, practice owners, and doctors to improve hospital efficiency, patient care, and team culture
  • Helping lead and support the team through the ever-changing needs of a busy mixed-animal practice

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) in South Carolina or eligible to obtain licensure within 6–9 months
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a veterinary hospital
  • Previous leadership or management experience is preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing daily needs
  • Experience with Shepherd Veterinary Software is preferred but not required
