Our partner in Birmingham, AL is seeking a highly motivated and business-minded individual to join their team as a Client Operations Liaison. This role is a pivotal link between customers and operational units, specifically managing items that supports their core product line. This hire will be placed in a fast-paced environment where business acumen and strategic decision-making will directly impact profitability and customer satisfaction. This is a great opportunity with a well-established company!
Job Duties:
  • Customer & Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing quotes, processing, tracking, and revising orders. You will also manage relationships with external vendors to communicate customer requirements and resolve build issues.
  • Strategic Decision Making: Apply sharp business judgment to complex scenarios, often requiring decisions to be made quickly and without complete information. This includes assisting in business purchasing decisions and reviewing budget considerations.
  • Financial Coordination: Project future revenue and profitability on orders. Coordinate with Accounts Receivable regarding invoices and credit terms, and assist in resolving collection issues.
  • Operational & Cost Oversight: Monitor orders, delivery schedules, component availability, and final assembly. Actively review job costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and work to increase margins on repeat business.
  • Sales Support: Learn to accurately cost and complete all steps required for product quoting, ensuring all procedures and quality standards are met.
  • Professional Interaction: Interact directly with customers and vendors, occasionally hosting customer visits to foster strong business relationships.

Qualifications:
  • This role requires a dedicated, roll-up-your-sleeves approach and a willingness to learn in a fluid, dynamic environment.
  • Sharp Business Acumen: A proven ability to think strategically, grasp financial concepts, and make sound commercial decisions quickly.
  • Agile & Fast-Paced: The ability to keep up with a high-velocity environment and pivot quickly based on operational demands.
  • Decision-Making Under Ambiguity: A comfort level with making informed decisions when not all information is perfectly clear or black-and-white
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required (Business, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related commercial field is preferred, but strong candidates from any background will be considered).
  • Team Player Mentality: Flexible, hard-working, and willing to tackle any task to ensure the team and the customer succeed.
