Woodard & Curran seeks a highly motivated and experienced National Business Development Leader (NBDL) to lead our public sector business development team. You will identify growth opportunities in alignment with executing the company's vision and strategic plan while leading and partnering in decision-making that sustains organizational change. You will leverage current partnerships and develop new strategic relationships, ensuring the achievement of sales, market position, and client satisfaction goals. This Business Development leadership position requires expertise in sales within the water and environmental markets in the public sector. In doing so, you will support the execution of a market-led approach based on leveraging the full power of Woodard & Curran talent to create value for our clients. You will promote organizational values and commitment to the development of employees as leaders throughout Woodard & Curran.  

Location: Hybrid role located near one of Woodard & Curran's primary office locations.

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran- Business Development:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for public sector clients aligned with the company's objectives and vision that achieves sales targets, revenue growth, and profitability goals
  • Build, develop, and manage a high-performing business development team capable of executing sales and client service initiatives, including client management plans, large-account strategies, and the identification and development of future Client Managers.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic market and client plans that leverage the company's strengths and unique offerings in the public sector.  
  • Recommend and implement sales strategies and improvements based on market research, regulatory drivers, and competitor analyses, including developing discrete service offerings and market content in conjunction with technical and operational leadership. 
  •  Collaborate across the organization and manage budgets to achieve the targeted cost of sales.  
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and client-centricity within the business development team to deliver exceptional results and exceed client expectations. 
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes shaping the public sector water and environmental landscape to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders in the public sector, including industry leaders, potential clients, and government entities, to drive business growth and enhance market position.

$185,000 - $300,000 a year

This role has the option for remote work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations. 

Group A (ME, FL) = $185,000 - $225,000

Group B (PA, MA, MO, GA, RI) = $205,000 - $250,000

Group C (CT, Andover/Canton/Boston MA, CA, NY) = $225,000 - $300,000

This position's anticipated pay range is provided; the final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level and consider a percentage-based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
