Employee Benefits Account Manager (Experienced)

What You'll Do

As an Experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager, you'll serve as the primary day-to-day partner for your clients, helping them navigate renewals, resolve complex service needs, and better understand their benefit plans. Working closely with consultants, carriers, and internal teams, you'll build trusted relationships through proactive communication, dependable follow-through, and the high-touch service experience R&R is known for.

Client Relationship & Service Management

  • Independently manage a book of fully insured and self-funded employee benefits clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building trusted relationships and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
  • Coordinate renewals, annual coverage reviews, and ongoing service needs, including claims, billing, enrollment, and eligibility questions.
  • Present renewal data, plan comparisons, and market analysis to clients in partnership with the consultant.
  • Manage implementations and carrier changes from start to finish.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Attend client meetings, including in-person meetings, alongside consultants as needed.
  • Partner with consultants, carriers, and internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Actively participate in team and carrier meetings.

Technical Expertise & Process Excellence

  • Prepare RFPs, presentations, benefit guides, and other client-facing materials as needed.
  • Provide guidance on applicable state and federal regulations impacting benefit plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in R&R's agency management systems.
  • Maintain organized tracking tools and documentation to ensure deadlines, renewals, and client commitments are consistently met.
  • Stay current on industry trends, products, and regulatory developments.

What You'll Bring

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in account management or a similar client-facing Employee Benefits role.
  • Employee Benefits experience is required. Experience within an insurance agency or brokerage is strongly preferred.
  • Active Life & Health insurance license, or ability to obtain in first 90 days of employment.
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong client-facing communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with agency management systems is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
  • High ethical standards and accountability aligned with R&R values.
  • Desire to continuously learn and grow within the employee benefits field.
