We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Sales Team!

This person has the option to work onsite, hybrid, or fully remote.

Schedule: Regular business hours + on call/weekends + travel

Travel Requirements: 40+%

The Business Development Manager is a driven, results-oriented sales professional focused on securing new business opportunities and expanding our customer base. Acting as the front-line "hunter," this role is responsible for identifying prospects, building relationships, and developing qualified opportunities that drive sustainable revenue growth. The Business Development Manager is expected to actively prospect, network, and engage decision-makers, creating a strong pipeline of opportunities, of which some may be transitioned to an Account Manager for long-term relationship management.

Job Duties:

  • Research and identify prospective clients through market analysis, networking, referrals, and outreach.
  • Generate leads and actively pursue new business opportunities through calls, meetings, and industry events.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers to establish trust and credibility.
  • Create and deliver tailored presentations, proposals, and solutions that align with client needs.
  • Negotiate terms and secure agreements that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking functions to expand visibility and pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure seamless handoff of new accounts for long-term servicing.
  • Track activity, pipeline development, and progress in the CRM system to provide accurate forecasts.
  • Share insights on market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs with leadership.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual new business targets.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol.
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in business development, outside sales, or related experience with track record of success in winning new accounts required.
  • Experience managing B2B accounts, particularly in food manufacturing or Fitness/Sports Nutrition industry, strongly preferred.
