This position requires you to be a Certified HHA or CNA.
The following bulleted lists outline your primary responsibilities as a personal care aide. This description is not meant to be an exhaustive list of services, as the exact duties to be performed for each assignment will vary. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review any special needs this client may have.
Objective:
To provide professional care giving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and household and family support services.
Reports To: Care Coordination Supervisor

  • Create and maintain open communication with seniors, their families, and our staff
  • Assist with personal care

  • Monitor Alzheimerโ€™s & Dementia client
  • Assist client throughout the night (If scheduled for overnight shift)
  • Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily
  • Report any significant client changes to the office immediately.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook and Training Manual.ย 
  • This position requires you to be a Certified HHA or CNA.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Ability to safely assist client in and out of a vehicle and safely lift a wheelchair or walker weighing up to 50lbs into and out of a vehicle.
  2. Use arms, legs, feet, hands and fingers to assist clients when performing tasks of daily living.
  3. Frequently move the whole body to perform tasks such as lifting, light housekeeping, walking and driving.
  4. Sitting for long periods of time โ€ข Ability to climb flight of stairs several times during shiftย 
  5. Ability to see well (naturally or with correction).
  6. This position requires you to be a Certified HHA or CNA.

Qualifications

  • Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English at an average adult level.
  • Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment test.
  • Ability to drive to get to work and have a vehicle available during assignments.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with no serious driving violations, a valid driverโ€™s license and car insurance
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations.
  • Demonstrate tact, patience and good hygiene
  • Must have flexibility with schedule and be able to work various shifts and days
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment with Senior Helpers.
  • Pass employment physical and 2-step TB test
  • Proof of passing first aid/CPR training within 3 months of employmentย 
  • This position requires you to be a Certified HHA or CNA.
