Job description

The Role

GovExec is seeking a determined Account Executive. You will work to secure new clients and identify growth opportunities for existing accounts. You will take a consultative approach to understand our client’s goals and create integrated marketing programs that map to those objectives. Although this role is primarily remote, candidates must be based in the Washington, DC–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) area to attend in-person client meetings and events as needed. 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strategic portfolio of strong relationships with new and existing clients; secure new and profitable partnerships and grow existing accounts
  • Inform new opportunities and ongoing business development strategy through deep knowledge and understanding of the market and trends
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to build integrated packages and tailored proposals that map to clients’ goals 
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, track performance and assist in pipeline management 
  • Manage client relationships, expectations, and delivery of ROI, in partnership with product teams

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in media sales and/or government contracting
  • Reside in the Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV) area.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
  • Strong hunter mentality with experience in uncovering new opportunities
  • Proven record of goal or performance-based achievement and net new logos
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Effective problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, propelled by creativity, determination, and tenacity
  • Higher-level professionalism, discretion, and judgment 
  • Ability to work on one’s own, take initiative, and contribute to new ideas

 The compensation range for this role is $75,000 to $115,000 per year, including commission potential.
