Job Description:

The Export and Compliance Classification Expert is responsible for ensuring compliance according to the Harmonized System and the Export Administration Regulation or International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) by accurately classifying technology, software, and other applicable third party and intangible products, including reviewing and interpreting associated technical specifications. This role requires proven experience in the use of global-based ERP classification systems, managing workflows following audit-based processes, and administering standard reporting actions.

How you will make your mark...

  • Act as a subject matter expert in export and import classification, applying advanced classification methodologies and quality control principles across a broad range of technologies, including emerging, AI, and highly regulated performance based advanced computing / semiconductors domains.
  • Provide specialized classification support for platform-based and service-oriented business models, ensuring accurate and consistent classification outcomes in scalable, digital environments.
  • Ensure business continuity for classification operations by serving as a cross-trained resource capable of supporting global workflows and mitigating operational disruptions.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support product lifecycle activities, including participation in product roadmap reviews to proactively assess classification and regulatory impacts.
  • Develop and sustain deep technical expertise in advanced technologies and regulatory frameworks, enabling accurate classification of complex products where internal capability may be limited or evolving.
  • Contribute to building organizational capability in areas where specialized classification expertise is emerging or limited, by developing and maintaining knowledge resources, supporting knowledge transfer, and enabling effective succession planning through progressive assumption of advanced responsibilities.

About you:

  • University bachelor's degree.
  • Around 4-6 years of experience in a supply chain function.
  • Broker's license and/or 4-6 years of experience in a customs/global trade function.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes (plan, source, make deliver).
  • Very strong analytical and data modeling skills.
  • Very Strong communication and influencing skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Proven relationship management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), statistical analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams; recognized as Subject Matter Expert.
  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of the company's overall supply chain strategy.
  • Extensive understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Available to Promise (ATP) and master scheduling.
  • Good understanding of national and international trade requirements to align customs/trade function with business objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory analysis.
  • Developed leadership skills including team-building and conflict resolution and management.
