Job description

Clam Truck Operator

Join our team as a reliable and skilled Clam Truck Operator! We're looking for an individual dedicated to the safe and efficient loading and transportation of tree debris. You'll operate a clam truck, moving logs and brush from various jobsites to disposal locations, playing a key role in keeping our projects running smoothly and cleanly. This position demands strong heavy equipment skills, a commitment to safety, and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate clam truck machinery to load tree debris (logs, brush).
  • Transport materials safely and efficiently between jobsites and designated dumpsites.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections (pre-trip/post-trip) and report issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining clean and organized jobsites.
  • Communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Valid CDL is required: CDL A or CDL B works for this position
  • Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment, particularly clam trucks or similar.
  • Solid understanding of safe material handling and transportation practices.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations.
  • Physical ability to handle demanding tasks and work outdoors.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude.
