Job description

Robert Half client is looking for a detail-oriented Claims Assistant to support Workers’ Compensation administration for a Financial Services organization in Pleasant Hill, California. This Long-term Contract position focuses on keeping claim files organized, coordinating documentation, and helping ensure benefits and related records are handled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative ability, confidence working with medical and claim information, and a clear communication style when interacting with claimants, providers, and internal stakeholders.


Claims Assistant Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update medical-only claim records while providing administrative support for indemnity-related claim activities.

• Prepare payment requests, process invoices, and assist with authorizations to help keep claim transactions timely and accurate.

• Examine medical documentation and other claim materials to confirm completeness, consistency, and compliance with established requirements.

• Communicate with injured employees, member districts, healthcare providers, and external contacts to gather information and provide claim-related updates.

• Enter claim data, support benefit calculations, and keep electronic and physical files accurate, current, and well organized.

• Arrange medical evaluations, coordinate related correspondence, and track documentation received from providers.

• Monitor lost-time details and maintain up-to-date records related to claimant work status and leave information.

• Assist with return-to-work coordination and provide day-to-day support to Claims Examiners on assigned cases.

• Perform general administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, generating reports, copying materials, and completing special assignments as needed.
