FOREMAN POSITION SUMMARY

Among other services, we provide municipal sewer and water utility services, subsurface excavation, job-site development, land-planning and improvement, bolts-down installation, maintenance, and repair of civil works and towers for electrical utilities. Cobalt Civil is a rapidly growing locally-owned and operated company. As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking to hire Foremen with experience in the fields of Sewer/Waste Water, Substation, T-Line Piers, Site Construction, and Access Roads.
This will be a traveling position as we currently serve customers in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. Per diem allowances and hotel accommodations are provided with the compensation package.

FOREMAN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • They will act as a conduit for information from those physically completing construction to the project manager, as well as the Field Operations Manager and customer representatives
  • Prepares and maintains a one-week forecasted schedule and ensures that all necessary materials and equipment are onsite for their crew
  • Oversees daily operations as assigned to their crew
  • Oversees daily operations and insures all policies and procedures are adhered pertaining to quality and safety for their crew
  • Will conduct safety observations, and assist in near misses, environmental and safety investigations
  • Insures proper tracking of all labor, material and equipment for their crew daily
  • Maintains all paperwork/ document uploading required for their crew
  • Maintains and enters time for crew and equipment
  • Holds daily safety meetings and insures active participation from all crew members including additional onsite personnel
  • Provides leadership, guidance and actively train/promote learning to all crew members.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused and effective under time pressure situations
  • Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and construction drawings along with maintaining all proper documentation for field changes (Field Marked Prints)
  • Pre-planning to insure their crew has proper equipment and materials
  • Required to have company email/applications on their phone for communication purposes
  • Responsible for one complete crew.

FOREMAN QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of supervision experience in site/civil construction
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred
  • Class A CDL preferred
  • Leadership skills necessary
  • Travel Required
