Job description

The Milhouse Aviation team is growing and as such we are looking for a Manager, Civil Engineering that wants to take the next step in their career!
 
As the Section Manager, you will serve as the subject matter expert and will provide technical leadership that implements the development of all plans and projects for your group. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the technical concepts related to their specific discipline and will be expected to maintain a high level of continuous training to remain current on knowledge. Additionally, you will provide supervision and guidance across your projects and team members to ensure all objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters are met.
 
Project types will include but not be limited to: taxiway and runway design, deicing facilities, pavement design and striping, roadway design, utility design and grading.

What you will do:
  • Provide technical expertise to staff, clients, and peers within the organization for a focused type of work.
  • Assist in growing business volume with existing clients through the execution of quality work.
  • Perform technical skills gap analysis and recommend developmental training.
  • Assist project managers by developing and reviewing scopes, schedules and time budgets for work to be executed in their group.
  • Perform as a Project Manager or technical resource meeting billability targets required for role, level and team.
  • Monitor groups performance and adherence to required quality, scope, schedule, and budget criteria.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve problems in a pro-active manner.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with client, peer, and team members.
  • Support proposal opportunities that are strategically aligned with regional and group requirements.
  • Participates in the RFP/RFQ process including, site visits, client meetings, scope development, preparation of project approach, technical execution plans, schedules, and interviews.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor's Degree specific to their discipline work from an ABET accredited institution
  • 10 + years of design experience
  • PE license required
  • 5+ years' experience leading a team that specializes in the related field
  • An Entrepreneurial mind set
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites
  • MicroStation
  • AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of standard format specification development
  • Design software including but not limited to XP-SWMM, HEC-Ras, WinTR-55, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
  • Active memberships in discipline specific professional organization such as ASCE

$143,100 - $174,900 a year
The actual base pay depends upon many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
