Guardian Engineering Enterprises, LLC seeks a Civil Engineer to join either our Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, or Brooklyn, NY office.

The civil engineer will perform civil engineering assignments to design equipment, components, structures, or systems โ€” with a growing focus on AI infrastructure, data center solutions, site development, and missionโ€‘critical facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare project specifications detailing client performance requirements, component needs, design codes, and vendor drawing requirements for site development and civil infrastructure systems.

  • Assist in designing site development plans for data centers and industrial facilities, emphasizing site layout optimization, utility coordination, and infrastructure reliability.

  • Support civil infrastructure design including grading plans, drainage systems, and utility networks for highโ€‘performance facilities.

  • Prepare engineering sketches, grading computations, drainage analyses, and design models for projects including site utility planning for data centers and AI campuses.

  • Contribute to stormwater management and erosion control design to ensure environmental compliance and site sustainability.

  • Develop civil construction specifications for earthwork, utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage), roadways, and site improvements.

  • Review vendor drawings for compliance and communicate with clients, subcontractors, utilities, and agencies regarding civil requirements.

  • Support sustainable site design practices to optimize efficiency and utility capacity planning.

  • Work within schedule and budget constraints while adhering to quality and review standards.

  • Coordinate civil design with surveys, geotechnical reports, and environmental studies for complete site analysis.

  • Comply with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and participate in hazard identification programs.

  • Support client relationships through professional communication and contribute to estimating and knowledge sharing within the team.

Experience & Skill Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering required (Civil preferred); ABETโ€‘accredited degree preferred.

  • EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus but not required. (2โ€“5 years of civil engineering experience; field experience a plus.)

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and drainage/grading software for site design.

  • Exposure to data center site development and civil infrastructure systems including site layout and utility coordination.

  • Knowledge of site development requirements for technology and industrial infrastructure, including grading and utility capacity planning.

  • Familiarity with roadway, parking, drainage, and utility design for commercial/industrial applications.

  • Understanding of site grading, stormwater management, and environmental compliance principles.

  • Interest in sustainable site design, erosion control, and infrastructure reliability, with awareness of design codes and regulations.

  • Understanding of utility design, drainage calculations, and civil construction methods.

  • Strong problemโ€‘solving, teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

  • Experience coordinating site design and regulatory interaction for civil solutions in industrial projects.
