Location: Hotel Arista
Department: Arista Coffee & Cafรฉ
Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $17.00-19.00/hour plus gratuity, commensurate with experience and education.
Age Requirements: Must be 18+
Additional Requirements: Must have open availability in mornings and afternoons
Role Summary:
The Barista is responsible for providing customer service, taking orders, completing guest orders, cashiering, preparing and servicing various foods/drinks throughout the day with a continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.
Responsibilities:
  1. Immediately greet each guest and welcome them into the restaurant;
  2. Anticipate customer needs when assisting all guests with their orders to ensure a positive experience
  3. Follow all company policies and procedures in regards to cash handling, food and beverage preparation, safety and daily operation of the restaurant
  4. Prepare all orders according to company standards while meeting or exceeding speed of service and quality expectations
  5. Maintain a clean and organized guest environment as well as a clean and organized workspace
  6. Adhere to all food and health safety standards
  7. Convey food, beverage and coffee retail product knowledge to guests
  8. Contribute to a positive team working environment
  9. Demonstrate consistent punctuality and attendance for each shift
  10. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
  1. High school diploma or equivalent education

Experience
  1. Previous experience in Food Service or a Coffee Shop setting is preferred.
  2. Micros experience preferred.

Skills
  1. Excellent written and verbal skills.
  2. Neat and clean appearance
  3. Basic skills in reading, writing and math
  4. Demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
  5. Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  6. Ability to relate to all levels of guests and management
  7. Ability to work in a team environment
  8. Must possess a strong team spirit

Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  2. Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist
  3. Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation
  4. Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
