Could This Be For You?
Fillauer is hiring a full-time Fabrication Technician in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The technician provides technical support and expertise in the fabrication of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices. This role will focus heavily on plaster modifications.
Your Impact
  • Works in a laboratory setting, fabricating custom upper extremity prosthetic devices, and orthotic devices
  • Configures and constructs devices to specifications established by a physician or other health care provider
  • Utilizes tools and precision instruments to result in customized fit, optimal function, and maximum comfort for the patient
  • Disassembles, repairs and reassembles defective or worn devices or appliances
  • Works in collaboration with the Clinician
  • Interprets technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, or other verbal or written instructions
  • Ensures quality standards are met
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards
  • Uses hand tools, power tools, custom fixtures, drill presses, arbor presses, ovens, heat guns and other light duty equipment
  • May perform sewing and/or plastic thermoforming

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience using basic shop hand tools
  • Ability to work on feet for 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently and safely
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Must be detail focused
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
