Family Medicine Residency Program Director needed in Gary, Indiana~ Located 30m to Downtown ChicagoPosition Details

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Program Director needed to lead, recruit and develop faculty
  • Provide an educational experience that will enable resident physicians to obtain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to practice the specialty of Family Medicine independently and competently, with successful achievement of certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).
  • Develop, modify, and conduct the residency program in accordance with and as defined by the program requirements of the Residency Review Committee (RRC) in order to ensure the highest quality education and to maintain continuing full program accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and ensure knowledge of the current requirements.
  • Oversee recruitment of high caliber residents for the program each year that will be a good fit to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the Methodist Hospitals, Inc. and likely to be successful graduates of the program.
  • Help identify and obtain the faculty, facilities, support services, equipment, and educational resources necessary to create a learning environment maximally conducive to achieving the educational goals and objectives of the program and maintaining program accreditation.
  • Maintain clinical proficiency through ongoing clinical activity.
  • Excellent communication skills and teaching ability are expected. Should be knowledgeable in Program Administration, Faculty, Resident, and Program Supervision and Evaluation, and Resident Recruitment, Selection, Promotion and Dismissal. Must be self-directed, highly motivated and have superior organizational and time management skills.
