Job description

Network Engineer and Cisco Specialist, Senior

Opportunity: Support enterprise network modernization by designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and resilient network infrastructures across government environments. Apply deep experience with Cisco technologies to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routing, switching, and network security components. Work closely with engineers, network operations staff, and technical leads to deliver reliable connectivity and ensure secure, scalable network performance for mission systems.

As a Network Engineer, you will configure and operate Cisco platforms such as ASA, Firepower, Nexus switches, and IOS‑based routers. You will also support routing protocols and tunneling technologies including OSPF, BGP, IBGP, GRE, and MPLS L3VPN. In addition, you will troubleshoot complex network performance issues, implement corrective actions, support network architecture reviews, capacity planning, performance optimization, and integrate network security controls aligned to enterprise security and information assurance requirements.

You Have
  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering
  • Experience with Cisco network technologies
  • Experience with routing, switching, network design, network performance management, and network planning
  • Experience with GRE tunnels and BGP or IBGP
  • Experience with Juniper networks and MPLS L3VPN
  • Knowledge of Cisco ASA, Firepower, Nexus, routers, and Cisco IOS
  • Knowledge of network security design principles
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • HS diploma or GED

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of the total compensation package. Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, retirement plans, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care assistance. Eligible employees participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs when working at least 20 hours a week.
