Job Description Principal Network Engineer Location: Huntsville, AL Work Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Clearance Travel: Up to 30% Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Principal Network Engineer to support the design, integration, administration, and maintenance of complex network infrastructure within a DoD environment. This position will work with enterprise network technologies and support connectivity across routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network and communications equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies, experience designing additions to large networks, and the ability to troubleshoot complex network and system interconnections.

Responsibilities Design, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure. Support routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and communications security equipment. Develop and implement additions and modifications to large network environments.

Maintain technical expertise across network and software interconnections and interfaces. Configure and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper network technologies. Support Linux and Windows systems within networked environments.

Assist with network architecture, technical documentation, and engineering reviews. Collaborate with systems, cybersecurity, software, and infrastructure engineering teams. Travel as required to support program and customer needs.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. Active, current, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

Current Security+ certification. Strong knowledge of network and software interconnections, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and COMSEC equipment. Experience with both Cisco and Juniper technologies.

Strong knowledge of Cisco router and switch hardware and software. Experience designing additions or modifications to large network environments. Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%. Preferred Qualifications Experience administering, managing, and modifying firewall hardware and software. Experience supporting classified networks for DoD customers.

Experience with DevOps technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure. Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
