Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
The Clinical Information System (CIS) Coordinator II supports the implementation of system upgrades, and assists with design and testing efforts for enhancements to clinical information systems. This position engages and builds collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical department users, providers, IS and other corporate departments to facilitate usage and acceptance of clinical applications. This position also leads a CIS project team/initiative at an individual HSO.
Responsibilities
Provides support to end users and seeks to make improvements through training, process improvement and quality assurance initiatives; provides new and ongoing clinical application training and assesses current level of knowledge of new users; works with department management to provide additional clinical application education.
Gathers and interprets the workflow and business requirements for impacted areas; collaborates with colleagues to ensure key workflow changes are highlighted in training activities; participates in BJC CIS Teams and Projects; assists with mapping of workflows.
Reviews, tests and implements system enhancements and upgrades; assists clinical end user community in understanding technical components of enhancement/upgrade work; acts as a lead for a CIS Team or Project and collaborates with IT partners to understand enhancements and upgrades, as well as targeted testing requirements.
Provides daily support to clinicians through review of clinical reports, audits, downtime procedures, and troubleshooting.
Maintains communications to hospitals regarding clinical application changes and upgrades; assists in the development of targeted communications from Project Teams for the end user community and CIS.
