DescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONEmployees in this position can will perform a wide range of duties and assist in all library operations.
Part-time: 29 hours per week Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Experience with computers and standard office software.
- Performing circulation services including greeting patrons, checking materials in and out of the library, shelving library materials, issuing library cards,
- Assist patrons on public access computers and with digital resources.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalent and library experience preferred; however, acquired.
COMMUNICATION SKILLSSkill in verbal and written communication.
Supplemental InformationSOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIREDBasic: Works proficiently with basic computer software and can become proficient with Integrated Library System (ILS), Apollo. Ability to gain a working understanding of current and developing technologies as they relate to public library operations and services.
ACCOUNTABILITYThis position is accountable to and reports to the Librarian or Assistant Librarian. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision. Time management skills are necessary.
PUBLIC CONTACTDaily contacts with patrons, within the library. Must have the ability to establish positive working relationships with patrons. May also involve occasional self-initiated contacts to patrons. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgement in handling information and records is essential.
EMPLOYEE CONTACTAbility to develop positive working relationships with co-workers. Ability to work independently or as part of a team depending on task. Often work in coordination with employees in other departments and organizations.
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERSAbility to use a copy machine, fax machine, telephone, computers, printers, scanners, and Square.
