Job description

Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks a Software Engineering Senior Advisor for the Morris Plains, NJ location responsible for the analysis, coding, testing, and maintenance of application software written in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, MQ, and CICS.

Responsibilities:

Support the existing business systems applications and partner with Senior Developers and Application Architects to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions.

Responsible for coding as well as assisting with designing and documenting technical requirements for business applications.

Develop and implement mainframe technologies and understand requirements in order to best design suitable prototypes.

Communicate technical concepts with the team and identify and troubleshoot customer issues and resolve issues timely and efficiently.

Understand and implement best customer support practices, as well as understand customer support success metrics.

Ensure that client requirements are met and that projects are delivered timely and according to budget.

Set up client data, develop code, unit test, and integrate applications, review existing system configurations and operating methodologies and understand evolving business needs and maintain the benefit system setups for clients needing pharmacy benefits.

Provide high level design changes to reduce CPU utilization and optimization by performance tuning the database.

Hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience.

All qualifying experience must include: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS DB/DC, and REXX;

Modern data engineering tools (e.g. Databricks, Ab Initio, or similar);

Data replications tools (e.g. Goldengate, Kafka, or similar);

Agile and Scrum methodologies and tools; and,

Tools and technologies including AWS, Teradata, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL

Salary Range: $189,592-$217,000


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,200 - 217,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
