Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Management Senior Manager to support Enterprise Gateway, an enterprise asset that enables secure, reliable, and scalable exchange of data between Cigna/Evernorth platforms and external entities. This role is responsible for shaping product direction, managing roadmaps, coordinating delivery across cross-functional partners, and ensuring Gateway capabilities deliver measurable operational, customer, provider, and business value.

The Product Management Senior Manager partners closely with engineering, Gateway operations, trading partner management, solution leadership, architecture, compliance, data, and business stakeholders to translate enterprise priorities into actionable product plans. This role supports the end-to-end product lifecycle for Gateway capabilities, including intake, discovery, prioritization, backlog alignment, release readiness, adoption, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

This role brings strong product judgment, operational discipline, and enterprise mindset to a complex platform environment. The Senior Manager balances stakeholder needs, regulatory expectations, resiliency, modernization, cost, and delivery feasibility while helping the Gateway product team improve throughput, quality, transparency, and value realization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Leadership & Team Enablement:

  • Provide product leadership for Enterprise Gateway capabilities, helping align product owners, delivery partners, operations, and technology teams around shared outcomes.
  • Coach and guide product team members on product discovery, prioritization, stakeholder communication, backlog quality, and outcome-driven decision making.
  • Create clarity on product goals, roles, dependencies, and delivery expectations across Gateway workstreams.
  • Model strong product management practices while influencing teams through credibility, data, and clear decision frameworks.

Product Vision, Roadmap & Strategy:

  • Support and evolve the Enterprise Gateway product vision and roadmap in alignment with enterprise priorities, provider connectivity, claims operations, regulatory mandates, and platform modernization goals.
  • Own roadmap inputs, prioritization recommendations, and sequencing decisions for assigned Gateway capabilities or workstreams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Gateway resiliency, transaction visibility, attachment processing, operational reporting, automation, and stakeholder experience.
  • Prioritize work that improves the Gateway's ability to validate, translate, route, acknowledge, monitor, and exchange high-volume transactions across internal and external partners.
  • Partner with architecture and engineering to evaluate modernization opportunities, including cloud migration, data and reporting improvements, technical debt reduction, and scalable integration patterns.
  • Balance speed, compliance, resiliency, risk, and cost while ensuring Gateway priorities are transparent and aligned to measurable outcomes.

Product Development & Delivery:

  • Manage the product lifecycle for assigned Gateway capabilities from discovery and intake through delivery, launch readiness, adoption, and optimization.
  • Translate business and operational needs into clear product outcomes, requirements, success measures, and prioritized backlog items.
  • Coordinate with delivery, engineering, architecture, operations, and business partners to resolve dependencies and keep work moving through planning and execution.
  • Ensure Gateway features and enhancements are secure, compliant, supportable, observable, and aligned with operational readiness expectations.
  • Use data, transaction trends, incident insights, stakeholder feedback, and performance measures to guide continuous product improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence:

  • Build trusted relationships with Gateway operations, engineering, solution leadership, trading partner management, compliance, finance, portfolio, and business stakeholders.
  • Act as a product advocate for Enterprise Gateway priorities, communicating progress, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to leaders and matrix partners.
  • Align stakeholders around prioritization, sequencing, dependencies, release readiness, and success metrics.
  • Translate complex platforms, transactions, regulatory, and operational topics into clear narratives for business and technology audiences.

Gateway Domain, Industry & Operational Analysis:

  • Develop strong working knowledge of Enterprise Gateway capabilities, including EDI transactions, trading partner exchange, attachments, acknowledgements, reporting, and downstream application dependencies.
  • Stay current on healthcare interoperability, EDI standards, CAQH CORE requirements, regulatory expectations, and industry trends that may affect Gateway priorities.
  • Use operational data, stakeholder input, and industry signals to identify product opportunities that improve reliability, experience, efficiency, and enterprise reuse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • 7+ years of product management, product ownership, technology delivery, platform, or operations experience, including experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing product roadmaps, backlogs, priorities, and delivery outcomes in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience influencing product owners, engineering teams, operations partners, and business stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority.
  • Experience with healthcare, EDI, interoperability, claims, provider connectivity, platform products, or regulated enterprise technology preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 25%)

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong product judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Deep understanding of product discovery, backlog management, roadmap planning, agile delivery, and value measurement.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive-ready storytelling skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, make trade-off decisions, and create structure across complex dependencies.
  • Experience driving operational efficiency, resiliency, customer or provider experience improvements, and measurable business outcomes through product solutions.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise platforms, data exchange, system integrations, reporting, controls, and operational readiness concepts.
  • Ability to partner with engineering and architecture teams to assess feasibility, technical risk, modernization opportunities, and supportability.
