Position Summary:
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  The purpose of this position is to serve as a face of the church during the week.ย  The person who fills this role will take their direction from the Senior Minister; support the flow of communication in the life of the church with our members as well as the larger community; work with the pastoral staff to fulfill the day-to-day needs of the office; and handle building usage.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  As the initial face of the church many will encounter, our administrative assistant is expected to be compassionate, courteous, friendly, pleasant, organized, competent in technology, and able to keep certain information confidential as required.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  As a member of the First Christian Church staff, this person will be expected to abide by all applicable policies and procedures as detailed in bylaws and policies and procedures of First Christian Church, as well as any applicable local, state, or federal laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Participate in staff meetings
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Assist in increasing effective communication both internally and externally
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Answer the phone and direct phone calls to the appropriate parties
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Greet and assist visitors and monitor building visitors throughout the day
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Process building use requests and event management
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Maintain church calendar and prayer list
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Update membership rolls/church management system as necessary
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Create, print, fold, and send newsletters and congregational emails
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Assist the Treasurer:ย  enter accounts receivables and payables; count and post offerings; record pledges; prepare and send member status reports; record payroll
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Record attendance and send letters to visitors
ยทย  ย  ย  ย  ย Manage church phone system
