Job Overview
Drives a straight truck, less than 1 1/2 tons, usually 4 wheels to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers' houses or places of business. Truck Drivers are classified by type and the rated capacity of truck. Rated capacity is the gross vehicle weight minus the empty weight of the vehicle.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Safely operates motor vehicles between various locations and destinations-forklifts, wreckers, passenger buses, shuffle vehicles, tractor-trailers, and general-purpose vehicles.
  • Performs normal maintenance including inspecting vehicles and checking gas, oil, water, and related safety/maintenance items before departure; replenishing all fluids as necessary; and fueling vehicles using an automated tracking system.
  • Loads/unloads cargo and baggage.
  • Drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments.
  • Inspect vehicles and check gas, oil, water, and related safety/maintenance, items before departure, replenish all fluids as necessary, and fuel vehicles using an automated tracking system.
  • Load or unload truck with or without helpers.
  • Make minor mechanical repairs and keep truck in good working order.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work area as required.
  • Accountable for government furnished items.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • Ability to obtain flightline driving permit after hire (company provided).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and Hazardous Materials Endorsements.
  • DOT (Department of Transportation) physical is required.
  • One (1) year experience of relevant driving in a like or similar role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to understand working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds, and team lift 51 pounds or more.
