Job description

The Product Core team leads the product strategy and planning activities for the next generation of Jeep/Ram/Dodge/Chrysler International nameplates. In this strategic and visible role, the Product Manager is charged with executing the long-range plan and supporting Jeep/Ram/Dodge/Chrysler global growth. The Product Manager is responsible for analyzing and understanding the competitive landscape, key competitor attributes, and customer data such as demographics and purchase/rejection reasons. The Product Manager will translate this knowledge and the brand DNA into cohesive long-term product and lifecycle plans. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team comprised of regional teams, product planning, brand, research, engineering, design, marketing, etc. to develop global products by driving international market requirements into the Product Development process from the Ideation Phase through Product Launch.
The ideal candidate is passionate about researching international markets and understanding customer and technology trends. They are creative, detail-oriented, and skilled in data extraction and analysis. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to deliver clear, concise, executive-level presentations. The candidate should be self-directed, proactive in developing solutions, and capable of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives through effective project management.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Whitespace and Nameplate Strategy and Planning:
    • Identify and quantify international portfolio whitespace opportunities
    • Analyze market, customer, segment, and competitive trends to define:
      • Target customers and markets
      • Product specifications (size, powertrain, features, content)
      • Brand positioning and strategy
    • Establish functional, performance, and benchmark targets
    • Lead cross-functional alignment across design, engineering, and product planning
    • Represent the voice of international markets in key forums
    • Develop and maintain detailed global product and lifecycle plans
    • Support product-related business development initiatives
  • Consumer Research:
    • Establish research objectives
    • Participate in market research planning and execution
    • Drive the market research findings into customer driven product decisions
  • New Business/Studies:
    • Manage strategic studies and business case development to support new product initiatives and market opportunities
  • Governance:
    • Work closely with Finance to support business case development in support of Product Development milestones and Product Committee product initiatives
    • Support governance preparation with leadership
  • Communication:
    • Conduct regular regional product communication
  • Long Range Planning:
    • Manage global long-range plan (LRP) development and semi-annual submissions for responsible brands and segments
  • Localization Programs:
    • Support SKD/CKD initiatives and market-specific adaptations

Basic Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 7 years of cross-functional experience in international sales or product marketing, product planning, strategy, engineering, project management, or market research
  • Strong understanding of international automotive markets, trade environments, and customer trends
  • Strong leadership skills, including direct supervisory experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
  • Proficiency in AI tools and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Experience with automotive partnerships and managing partner relationships
  • Able to deliver executive presentations to management
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to synthesize data into clear insights and compelling points of view
