Job description

Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions
Location: Uniondale, Long Island, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time | Executive Leadership
Compensation: Executive-level base salary + incentive compensation
About Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions
Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is a growing hotel management company with a diverse portfolio of branded hotels. As we continue to expand and strengthen our operating platform, we are seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic and operational leadership across our portfolio.
This is a highly visible executive leadership position for a proven hospitality operator who understands that exceptional hotel performance is built through strong leaders, disciplined execution, financial accountability, brand excellence, and an unwavering commitment to the guest experience.
The Opportunity
The COO will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for hotel operations across a multi-property, multi-brand portfolio.
Working closely with ownership, corporate leadership, above-property operations leaders, General Managers, brand partners, and asset management, the COO will be accountable for driving operational excellence, financial performance, leadership development, and consistent execution across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strategic operator, people developer, and profit driver who can move seamlessly between portfolio-level strategy and property-level execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead operational strategy and execution across the hotel portfolio.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to above-property operations leaders and General Managers.
  • Drive property performance with a strong focus on revenue, GOP, NOI, productivity, and overall profitability.
  • Establish clear operating expectations and ensure consistent execution across properties.
  • Partner with Finance and Revenue Management on budgets, forecasts, business plans, and performance strategies.
  • Develop strong GM and operational leadership pipelines through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Build productive relationships with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, ownership groups, and asset management partners.
  • Ensure hotels meet or exceed brand standards, guest experience expectations, and operational performance goals.
  • Provide executive oversight during hotel acquisitions, transitions, openings, renovations, and other major property initiatives.
  • Identify underperforming operations and lead strategies that improve results.
  • Strengthen accountability, communication, collaboration, and operational discipline throughout the portfolio.
  • Partner with corporate functions including HR, Finance, Revenue Management, Sales, Risk Management, and CapEx to support portfolio performance and growth.
What You Bring
We are looking for a seasoned hospitality executive with:
  • 10+ years of successful Hotel General Manager experience.
  • 10+ years of senior hotel operations leadership experience.
  • Significant above-property leadership experience is required.
  • Demonstrated success leading a multi-property, multi-brand hotel portfolio.
  • Strong branded-hotel experience, particularly with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and/or IHG.
  • Exceptional P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management skills.
  • A proven track record of increasing revenue, GOP, NOI, and overall hotel performance.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, talent development, and succession-planning capabilities.
  • Experience working effectively with hotel brands, ownership, and asset management.
  • Demonstrated experience with hotel transitions, renovations, acquisitions, and organizational growth.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership.
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, judgment, and accountability.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CHA designation preferred, or equivalent depth of industry experience.
The Leader We're Looking For
You have spent your career operating hotels and developing the people who lead them.
You understand the numbers - but you also understand that people drive the numbers.
You know how to challenge a GM, support a struggling property, partner with ownership, work with the brands, develop a leadership bench, and create the operating discipline necessary to consistently deliver results.
Most importantly, you are ready to help build what comes next.
Why Blue Sky?
This is an opportunity to join a growing hospitality organization at an important point in its evolution and have a meaningful impact on how we operate, lead, develop talent, and scale the business.
Lead more. Make a bigger impact. Build what's next.
Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
