Job Description:

Job Summary

Lead Salisbury University's comprehensive global engagement strategy by overseeing the full portfolio of the Janet Dudley Eshbach Center for International Education (CIE), including study abroad, study away (National Student Exchange), international admissions, international student & scholar services, the English Language Institute (ELI), and bilateral student exchange programs that bring visiting students to SU. Strengthen global partnerships, expand international learning opportunities, and collaborate across campus to advance internationalization, intercultural learning, and SU's global visibility.

Authority and Accountability

Reports to the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs. There are currently 2 full-time staff and 3 full-time faculty reporting to this position.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree (international education, higher education administration, or related field preferred).
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in international education.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration compliance, risk management, and global higher education trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and intercultural skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and academic leadership.
  • Ability to be recognized by USCIS as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for the F-1 visa program and Responsible Officer (RO) for the J-1 visa program required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a public university setting.
  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages.
  • Record of securing external funding for international programs.

The position is a full-time, exempt, state role with comprehensive benefits.
