Job description

Position Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Hours: Swing Rotation, Working Straight Dayshift or Nightshift schedule.
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Production Utility Operator will be responsible for the preparation and handling of chemicals for a 30-vessel chemical plant.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Operate various types of processing equipment including mixing controls on production vessels, filters, and pumps.
• Preparation and cleaning of equipment to drum off product into correct containers.
• Operation of material handling equipment such as hand trucks and forklifts.
• Unloading/transferring product from tank wagons, storage tanks, and reactors for storage and shipment to customers.
• Staging raw materials for production. Trained on the warehouse flow of stock and partial materials.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Willing to assist other team members when necessary.
• Keep a safe and positive work speed when working alone with limited supervision.
• Must be able to maintain error free record keeping and complete necessary mathematical calculations to limit errors.
• Must have general computer skills to operate out label and Chempax program.
• Receives guidance and feedback on the production process, does not produce any of the batches or work directly in the process of making the batch, only packages the material once QC approved.
• Ability to work in an environment that is exposed to the elements, IE hotter than typical temperatures and colder than normal temperatures for long periods of time.
• Able to stay work focused for long periods of time in one designated location with repetitive task being completed.
• May be required to work nightshift schedule. (Shift Differential Provided)
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Candidates must be available to work on 24/7 rotating swing shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
