Chemours is seeking a Material Handler - Operations , who will be responsible for the success of all aspects of operations at the Washington Works plant located in Washington, WV . Success is measured by safety, cost, schedule, quality, and contribution to business improvement. The position is within operations as a material handler.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Monitors and operates equipment and facilities, including field equipment (i.e. blending, mixing, manual and automated packaging systems, & warehousing), insuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.

  • Maintains safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.

  • Performs basic maintenance repair and upkeep on area equipment.

  • May perform basic practical maintenance activities, as qualified.

  • Move control settings to make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of Packaging/Blending equipment.

  • Monitor recording instruments, flowmeters, panel lights, and other indicators, and listen for warning signals, in order to verify conformity of process conditions

  • Record operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings.

  • Draw samples of products in order to ensure quality is met.

  • Make material movements using an industrial powered truck

  • Interpret proper quality of packaging material per customer specifications

The following is required for this role:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including overtime, weekends, holidays, and short notice call-in as required.

  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds, climb stairs, stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and reach overhead,

  • Ability to wear required PPE (personal Protective Equipment - eyewear, acid suit, breathing air, etc.)

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

The following is preferred for this role:

  • 3 years Industrial Experience

  • Prior material handing or warehouse experience
