Lead a Talented Culinary Team at One of Mobile's Most Iconic Hotels

The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa is seeking a passionate, hands-on Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team and deliver exceptional dining experiences across one of Mobile's premier full-service Marriott hotels.

Working alongside our Executive Chef, you'll help oversee restaurant operations, banquet production, room service, and other culinary outlets while inspiring a team committed to excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily kitchen operations across restaurant, banquet, and room service functions, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, presentation, and execution.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop culinary associates by fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Executive Chef to drive operational excellence through labor management, food cost controls, inventory management, purchasing, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and Marriott brand standards while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to enhance the guest experience, support menu innovation, and deliver exceptional service for both restaurant guests and banquet events.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven culinary leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, resort, catering, or banquet operation, with previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Experience leading kitchen teams while maintaining exceptional food quality, operational efficiency, and strong financial performance.
  • Breakfast service experience is strongly preferred, along with experience supporting both restaurant and banquet operations.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, purchasing, inventory control, labor management, and cost controls.
  • A collaborative, hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for developing people and creating memorable dining experiences.
