Chapter Director information

What are Chapter Directors?

Chapter Directors are leaders responsible for overseeing and managing a branch or local chapter of a larger organization, such as a nonprofit, association, or professional group. Their primary duties include coordinating chapter activities, managing volunteers or staff, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, and serving as the main point of contact between the chapter and the parent organization. They often handle budgeting, event planning, community outreach, and reporting. Effective Chapter Directors possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to help their chapters grow and achieve their goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Chapter Director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chapter Director, you need strong leadership, organizational management, and strategic planning skills, often supported by experience in nonprofit or association management. Familiarity with CRM systems, budgeting tools, and event management software is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and motivational abilities help foster member engagement and team cohesion. These skills and qualities are essential for driving chapter growth, ensuring operational excellence, and effectively representing the organization’s mission.

How does a Chapter Director typically collaborate with national leadership and local team members?

A Chapter Director serves as the primary liaison between the local chapter and the national organization, ensuring alignment on strategic goals and initiatives. This role involves frequent communication with national leadership to report on chapter progress, share local insights, and implement organizational policies. At the local level, the Chapter Director leads a team of staff and volunteers, delegating responsibilities, fostering a collaborative culture, and resolving any issues that arise. Effective collaboration across these groups is essential for maintaining organizational consistency and achieving both local and national objectives.

Job description

Property Description
Nestled in the scenic Wasatch Mountains in Midway, Homestead is a historic, reimagined four-season destination set across nearly 190 acres of breathtaking natural beauty. Known for its iconic geothermal crater, championship golf course, and year-round outdoor adventure, the resort offers a unique blend of heritage charm and modern hospitality. With newly renovated accommodations, diverse dining experiences, and close proximity to world-class skiing, hiking, and fly fishing, Homestead is both a relaxing retreat and an adventure hub-creating an inspiring environment for hospitality professionals to grow, innovate, and deliver memorable guest experiences.
Overview
Are you a hands-on, relationship-driven sales leader who enjoys building something meaningful? Homestead Resort is entering an exciting new chapter, and we're looking for a Director of Sales & Marketing to help shape what comes next.
This is a unique opportunity to lead sales strategy for a historic resort undergoing a full transformation and phased reopening. You'll play a key role in driving revenue during the evolution of the property-balancing immediate business needs with long-term positioning as a premier mountain resort destination.
We're seeking someone who is both strategic and hands-on-comfortable leading a team while actively selling across key segments, including group, catering, and luxury leisure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans aligned with both short- and long-term revenue goals
  • Actively drive business across group, leisure, and social catering segments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, planners, and partners
  • Identify new business opportunities and adapt strategies based on market trends and seasonality
  • Lead and develop a growing sales team, with the opportunity to shape future structure and roles
  • Collaborate closely with marketing to enhance positioning, awareness, and demand generation
  • Partner with ownership and operational leaders to support a phased reopening and evolving guest experience
  • Manage forecasting, budgeting, and overall sales performance
  • Leverage brand and internal resources to support visibility and booking performance

What Makes This Role Different
  • Opportunity to help reposition a long-standing resort into a luxury destination
  • Phased reopening environment with the ability to influence strategy and execution in real time
  • Strong base of existing group and event business, including corporate buyouts and weddings
  • Diverse mix of revenue streams, including lodging, catering, and future residential offerings
  • Support from a global brand platform, without reliance on third-party management
  • Highly engaged ownership that values input but allows leaders to operate independently

About the Property & Market
  • Located near Deer Valley Resort and Park City, in a growing, year-round destination market
  • Established reputation as a staple in the community with a long-standing history
  • Strong weekend, wedding, and seasonal demand, with opportunities to grow shoulder periods
  • Unique amenities, including a one-of-a-kind geothermal crater and expanded recreation offerings
  • Complex resort environment with varied accommodations, multiple amenities, and diverse guest segments

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in hotel or resort sales leadership, ideally within a luxury or lifestyle environment
  • Experience in a complex resort setting with multiple revenue streams and room types
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on sales role
  • Strong understanding of group, leisure, and catering business
  • Experience with renovations, repositioning, or brand transitions is a plus
  • Familiarity with mountain or ski resort markets is preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with ownership, team members, and clients

Why Join Homestead Resort
This is not a traditional sales leadership role-it's an opportunity to be part of a transformation. You'll have the chance to build, influence, and grow alongside a property redefining its place in the market, while still driving meaningful results day to day.
If you're energized by creating something new, leading through change, and making a visible impact, we'd love to connect.
