About the role:


We are looking for an integral member of the Cards Marketing team, responsible for leading content creation and execution for Walmart Rewards Mastercard cardholder engagement and retention campaigns. This role develops customer-facing copy and creative across email, SMS and in-app push notifications, translates business objectives and lifecycle strategies into compelling, compliant communications, and helps drive KPI performance across engagement, activation, retention and revenue goals. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders including Product, Portfolio, Walmart, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Design and Translation partners to deliver high-quality campaigns from briefing through launch and post-campaign optimization.

Reporting directly to the Director, this role has the following responsibilities:


Risk Management & Compliance, in adhering to applicable compliance obligations, including Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and internal Anti-Fraud Policy requirements, must remain the over-arching focus in carrying out one's responsibilities as outlined below:


Engagement & Retention

  • Develop content strategy, messaging and creative briefs for campaigns and journeys that support engagement, activation and retention KPI objectives
  • Create and manage customer-facing content (copy and graphics) across email, SMS and in-app/push channels, ensuring alignment to brand, offer and lifecycle strategy
  • Partner with CRM and business teams to support segmentation, journey orchestration, personalization and trigger-based communications
  • Lead test-and-learn initiatives including subject line, creativity, offer and messaging optimization to improve engagement and conversion outcomes
  • Leverage AI and emerging tools, where appropriate, to improve creative development, efficiency and campaign effectiveness

Market research and insights

  • Provide timely and relevant insights, creative best practices and competitive intelligence to inform campaign strategy and content development
  • Monitor campaign performance and translate results into actionable recommendations for future messaging, audience and channel optimization

Relationships and efficiency

  • Manage relationships with internal and external design, development and channel execution partners to deliver campaigns on time and to brief
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across Product, Portfolio, Walmart, Technology, Legal, Compliance and Translation to align priorities and approvals
  • Coordinate end-to-end campaign workflow including briefing, review cycles, QA, approvals, scheduling, launch readiness and post-campaign readouts
  • Work in close collaboration with the business team to ensure creative content supports portfolio growth, customer experience and commercial targets

Risk and Compliance

  • As an employee of Fairstone Bank, must comply with all applicable Fairstone Bank and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls
  • Maintain current understanding of and ensure adherence to compliance, privacy, anti-spam and channel-specific regulations across all digital platforms
  • Ensure governance, approvals, QA and documentation requirements are met for all marketing-related initiatives before launch

What we're looking for:


  • Formal Education: University degree in marketing, advertising or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in cards, CRM, lifecycle or retention marketing, including content creation for customer campaigns
  • Bilingual (Asset)
  • Hands-on experience developing omni-channel campaign content across email, SMS, push and in-app channels
  • Experience with customer segmentation, journey orchestration and personalized messaging using CRM/marketing automation platforms
  • Strong track record of managing campaign performance, A/B testing and optimization against engagement, conversion and retention KPIs
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment with legal, compliance, privacy and translation review processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns and stakeholders from briefing through execution and post-campaign readout
  • Strong content strategy, copywriting and creative briefing skills with the ability to tailor messaging by segment, offer and customer lifecycle stage
  • Proficiency in campaign management and collaboration tools; familiarity with CRM platforms such as Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Adobe Campaign is an asset
  • Strong QA discipline and attention to detail across copy, links, approvals, rendering and channel-specific execution requirements
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data, extract insights and translate results into actionable optimization recommendations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to work cross-functionally with product, portfolio, legal, compliance, technology and external partners
  • Solution-focused, highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while balancing quality, speed and compliance
