  Regional Sales Manager, Nuclear
Location: Toronto or Vaughan, Ontario
Business Unit: Shawflex
Position Type: Permanent
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day per week onsite)
Travel: Approximately 50% across the assigned Canadian territory, mostly in Toronto
Summary
As Regional Sales Manager, Nuclear, you will play a critical role in growing Shawflex's nuclear products and services business across Canada. Success in this role means expanding sales and gross margins, strengthening strategic customer relationships, winning new business with key industry stakeholders, and helping position Mattr as a trusted partner in Canada's evolving nuclear market. You will lead account growth initiatives, develop new market opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical and commercial solutions that support customer success and business growth.
Responsibilities Drive Sales Growth and Account Development
  • Grow sales and gross margins for nuclear products and services across the Canadian market.
  • Develop and execute regional sales plans and account strategies.
  • Expand and strengthen relationships with key accounts, including utilities, OEMs, EPCs, contractors, and distribution partners.
  • Identify customer challenges, unmet needs, and opportunities to increase market penetration.
  • Conduct customer visits, meetings, and technical presentations with engineering and decision-making stakeholders.
  • Lead the preparation of customer quotations while ensuring alignment with pricing and approval requirements.
  • Maintain a strong presence within the nuclear industry through networking, committees, industry associations, conferences, and trade events.
Develop New Markets and Business Opportunities
  • Pursue new opportunities within existing and emerging nuclear markets, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
  • Win new business from Tier 1 OEMs, EPCs, contractors, utilities, and channel partners.
  • Build demand through end-user engagement and channel development strategies.
  • Support distributor and end-user training initiatives.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive activity, product portfolios, pricing strategies, and channel opportunities to identify growth initiatives.
Deliver Technical and Commercial Solutions
  • Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Business Development teams to develop technical-commercial proposals.
  • Support technical reviews and proposal development that meet customer requirements and nuclear quality standards.
  • Translate customer needs into executable sales strategies and compliant commercial solutions.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to support customer delivery and business objectives.
Manage Pipeline, Reporting, and Strategic Projects
  • Maintain and manage a healthy sales pipeline and forecast future opportunities.
  • Track strategic projects and support successful execution following award.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and bid information within Salesforce.
  • Monitor and report on bid status, funnel maturity, win/loss activity, customer engagement, and account performance.
  • Provide regular sales activity, customer, and market reporting.
Support Strategic Planning, Quality, and Compliance
  • Contribute to annual strategic and business planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain market assessments and SWOT analyses.
  • Identify opportunities that support long-term growth objectives.
  • Ensure commercial activities comply with N299 and other applicable industry requirements.
  • Support Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality programs and initiatives.
Qualifications Required
  • University degree
  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience in a sales-focused role
  • Proven experience selling electrical components and/or products within the nuclear industry
  • Strong experience in key account management, business development, sales planning, technical presentations, and proposal development
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, negotiate effectively, and work cross-functionally
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems for customer and sales pipeline management
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory
Preferred
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration
  • Direct experience within the Canadian nuclear sector supporting utilities, OEMs, EPCs, contractors, or distributors
  • Knowledge of SMRs, MCR projects, and nuclear life-extension initiatives
  • Experience securing product approvals and developing new nuclear markets
  • Experience working with distribution networks and sales agents

The Salary Range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. The provided range represents the anticipated base salary and target incentive for this position. The final total compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
