Job description

(VERSION EN FRANCAIS PLUS BAS)

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Account Manager to take ownership of one of our most important client relationships. This is a high-stakes account with a complex internal structure, layered approval workflows, and an appetite for ambitious 360 creative work across brand identity, advertising campaigns, print and digital production, social content, and motion. You'll be the steady hand the client relies on, the strategic voice in the room, and the partner Project Managers acount on to set them up to execute. You own the relationship and the commercial health of the account; PMs own the day-to-day production engine. We need someone who reads a room, navigates politics without getting tangled in them, and turns even the messiest brief into a plan the agency can execute against.

What You'll Own

The Client Relationship: You are the primary point of contact, trusted advisor, and day-to-day owner of the account. You build the kind of relationship where the client picks up the phone for strategic counsel, not just status updates.

Approval Navigation: You map the client's internal stakeholder landscape, understand who signs off on what, and shepherd work through multiple layers of approval without losing momentum or creative integrity.

360 Production Oversight: You hold the line across the full spectrum of deliverables, from brand campaigns to social content to broadcast and motion. You set the direction; the PM and production team make it happen.

Marketing & Communications Counsel: You speak the client's language. You can challenge a brief, sharpen a strategy, and bring marketing rigor to the conversation, not just project management.

Partnership with Project Managers: You work hand in glove with the PMs assigned to your account. You bring them into the loop early, hand off briefs that are clear and complete, and trust them to run the project mechanics. They own timelines, resourcing, and execution; you own the client, the strategy, and the commercial frame around the work.

Internal Orchestration: You partner with creative, strategy, and PM leads to scope work, set realistic ambitions, and keep the team focused on what matters. You unblock; you don't bottleneck.

Commercial Health: You own scope, budget, and profitability on the account. You spot scope creep early, have the hard conversations, and protect the team's time.

Account Growth: You identify opportunities to deepen the partnership and grow the account in ways that genuinely serve the client's business.

Must-Haves

7+ years in account management at a creative agency, production studio, or in-house marketing team

Direct experience leading large, structurally complex client accounts with multiple stakeholders and approval layers

Strong marketing and communications acumen; you understand campaign strategy, brand building, and how creative work drives business outcomes

Demonstrated ability to manage 360 creative productions across brand, advertising, digital, social, and motion

Experience working closely with Project Managers and production teams, with a clear sense of where account leadership ends and project execution begins

Calm under pressure, sharp under scrutiny, and able to deliver hard truths with diplomacy

Bilingual (French and English), written and spoken

Nice-to-Haves

Experience working with regulated industries or clients with rigorous brand governance

A network in Montreal's marketing and production ecosystem

Background in strategy, planning, or marketing prior to moving into account leadership

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $95,000-$120,000 CAD

Benefits: Competitive; details will be discussed during the hiring process.

What Success Looks Like

The client trusts you the way they trust their own team, and brings you in early, not just at execution.

You navigate the approval chain cleanly.

The team feels protected; they know you've cleared the path before they start working.

Your PMs feel set up to win: briefs are clear, scope is locked, and client expectations are aligned before production starts.

You and the PM on each project move as one, with no confusion about who owns what.

Briefs land in the studio sharper than they arrived, with the right context and the right questions answered.

You catch problems before they surface, and you bring solutions, not flags.

Scope conversations happen early and calmly, never at the eleventh hour.
