Job description

Champlain Valley Equipment is a leading provider of agricultural, forestry, and light construction equipment in Vermont. As a Service Technician at our Berlin location, you will play a vital role in maintaining our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of machinery, develop technical skills, and represent a trusted local brand. Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery, forestry equipment, and light construction equipment.
  • Reassemble and test machines and equipment after repairs, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect equipment, review reports, and communicate with customers to identify and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Dismantle defective machines using appropriate tools for repair or replacement of parts.
  • Test and replace electrical components and wiring using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws.
  • Clean and lubricate parts to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Tune or overhaul engines as needed.
  • Assemble and inspect new equipment prior to delivery or use.
  • Document details of repairs performed and parts used for accurate service records.
  • Drive company trucks to transport tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery.
  • Serve as a professional representative of Champlain Valley Equipment in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills for effective customer and team interactions.
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic service tools.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Experience with agricultural, forestry, or construction equipment repair is a plus.
