Riverdale Ridge High School, a 27J School in Brighton, CO, is seeking a Small Engine Repair teacher to provide instruction in the American Welding Society's curriculum and the Equipment And Engine Training Council's curriculum.
Career and Technical Education, also referred to as STEM/CTE in 27J Schools, is a sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational experience to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. STEM/CTE programs deliver an enriched educational experience that promotes student interest and academic success while developing technical and career readiness skills necessary for the workplace of the future.
Required Qualifications:
  1. A valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license, with any one (1) of these CTE Authorizations :
    Secondary CTE Transportation
    Secondary CTE Manufacturing Production and Repair
  2. Preference given for experience in the welding or small engine industries.
  3. Bilingual literacy in Spanish is preferred.
  4. The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
  5. The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
  6. The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).
  7. A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.
