East Brunswick, NJ • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Description:

Who We Are
RK Pharma is a growing pharmaceutical organization focused on developing and manufacturing high-quality, affordable drug products through disciplined execution and strong internal collaboration. We operate in regulated environments where financial accuracy, cost control, and thoughtful decision-making directly support quality and long-term sustainability.

We are a practical, hands-on organization. We value leaders who understand the details, roll up their sleeves, and build systems that work — not just presentations that look good.

About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing RK Pharma’s financial operations, strategy, and controls. This position partners closely with senior leadership to ensure the company remains financially disciplined, operationally efficient, and positioned for steady growth.

This role is intentionally suited for someone who may be stepping into the CFO seat for the first time — for example, a Controller or senior finance leader with strong pharmaceutical experience who is ready to expand scope and influence.

This is not a purely strategic or advisory role. The CFO at RK Pharma is expected to be hands-on, deeply familiar with the numbers, and comfortable working in a scrappy, growing environment where systems continue to mature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Ensure accurate financial close processes and strong internal controls
  • Support pricing, product costing, and financial decision-making tied to manufacturing operations
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to support data-driven decisions
  • Lead cash flow management, working capital planning, and financial risk management
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and financial reporting obligations
  • Develop and improve financial systems, processes, and controls as the organization grows
  • Provide clear, practical financial insight to executive leadership
  • Build and mentor the finance team as appropriate

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Significant experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing finance
  • Experience leading accounting or finance functions (for example, Controller or Senior Finance Manager)
  • Comfort working in smaller or growing organizations
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate financial data into practical business decision, presentations for M&A, and PE boards.

Preferred

  • CPA or equivalent professional certification
  • Experience supporting GMP manufacturing operations
  • Prior experience working closely with Quality, Operations, or Supply Chain teams
  • First-time CFO candidates with the right background are strongly encouraged to apply

IMPORTANT CONTEXT (PLEASE READ)

RK Pharma is a growing, resource-conscious organization. This role is best suited for someone who values building and improving systems rather than inheriting perfect ones, being close to the work and the numbers, a collaborative and no-ego leadership culture, and stability and long-term impact over short-term polish.

This role may not be the right fit for someone seeking a highly resourced finance organization or a purely strategic, solely investor-facing CFO role.

How We Work
At RK Pharma, quality comes before speed. We value clear communication, disciplined execution, and leaders who stay grounded in the details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture. The CFO is expected to model calm, practical leadership and support sound decision-making across the organization.

What We Offer

  • A meaningful leadership role with real impact on company direction
  • The opportunity to step into the CFO seat and grow with the organization
  • A collaborative, respectful working environment
  • Competitive compensation aligned with scope and experience

Equal Opportunity Employer
RK Pharma is an equal opportunity employer committed to fair, consistent, and respectful hiring practices.
